Scope of this Policy

This Policy explains how 5PACE handles information connected with website access, member accounts, author profiles, newsletter preferences and administrator features. It does not apply to external websites or services that may be linked from 5PACE articles.

Information we collect

When you create or manage an account, we may process your e-mail address, name, surname, company or affiliation, professional title, newsletter preference, profile photo URL and public biography if you choose to provide one.

When you use the website, essential technical information may be processed by our hosting, authentication, database and storage providers so the website can load, accounts can remain secure and administrator access can be protected.

How we use information

We use account information to provide login, account management, author profiles, article signatures, newsletter preferences, content administration and security controls. We do not sell personal data.

The newsletter is optional. If you subscribe, we store your subscription preference. You can disable the newsletter from your account page at any time.

Cookies and browser storage

5PACE uses only essential cookies and storage to operate the website and maintain security.

Authentication cookies and related storage are used to keep users signed in, protect account features and verify administrator access. The site may also store a first-party privacy-notice preference so the notice is not shown again after you dismiss it.

At this stage, 5PACE does not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies.

Service providers

The project uses Supabase for authentication, database and file storage, and may be deployed on Cloudflare Pages. If additional production providers are added later, such as e-mail delivery or privacy-focused analytics, this Policy should be updated before those services are used.

Security and limitations

5PACE uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to operate the website securely. However, no website, hosting platform, database, browser storage mechanism or internet transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, 5PACE is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential or unforeseeable loss arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control, including third-party infrastructure failures, network incidents, unlawful access attempts, user device compromise, incorrect user-provided information or misuse of account credentials.

Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits rights, remedies or obligations that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable data-protection, consumer or other mandatory law.

Retention and legal protection

We keep account information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, accounting, compliance, dispute-resolution or claim-protection purposes.

Where necessary and lawful, limited information may be retained to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, investigate misuse, protect the website and comply with legal obligations.

Your choices

You can update your profile details, newsletter preference and profile picture in your account. You can also delete your account from the account settings page.

Policy updates

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. The current version will be published on this page with its update date. Where a change is material or legally required to be communicated, 5PACE will take reasonable steps to bring the change to users’ attention.
