Information we process

When you browse this website, hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, device or browser details and security-related event data. This is needed to deliver the site and maintain its availability and security.

If you contact us by email, we process the information you choose to send, including your email address, message and any details you provide in it, to respond to your inquiry.

The News feed and live article reader request published content from Supabase directly from your browser. Supabase may receive your IP address, browser details and requested resource when delivering that content or its images.

For authorized editors, Supabase processes account identifiers, email addresses, sign-in credentials and authentication events to provide account access. Passwords are submitted to Supabase Auth; they are not stored by the website in browser storage.

Why we use information

We process relevant information to operate and protect the website, respond to messages and manage business inquiries, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Depending on the circumstances, our lawful bases under the GDPR may include our legitimate interests in operating a secure website, taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or compliance with legal obligations.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not intentionally use advertising cookies or website analytics trackers in the current website implementation. Essential technologies may be used by infrastructure providers to deliver and protect the site. If we introduce optional tracking technologies, this policy and any required consent mechanism will be updated before they are used.

Editor authentication tokens and limited account information are stored in sessionStorage for the current browser tab. Signing out clears that tab's stored session. A localStorage flag records whether an editor has changes awaiting deployment; it contains no post content or authentication credentials and remains until the editor confirms deployment or clears site storage.

Service providers and external links

We use Cloudflare for website delivery and related security services, and Supabase for published content, editor authentication and uploaded media storage. Our website also includes links to LinkedIn; if you follow those links, LinkedIn processes information under its own privacy policy. We do not control third-party websites.

Published author profiles and uploaded cover or gallery images are publicly accessible. Removing a post does not automatically remove its uploaded files. Previously generated publication pages remain available until a replacement deployment removes them; information already downloaded by visitors or retained by third parties may remain outside our control.

Service providers may operate internationally. Where required by law, appropriate safeguards must apply to international transfers of personal data.

Data retention and security

We retain contact correspondence and technical information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, subject to legal requirements and the retention practices of our relevant service providers. We apply reasonable security measures, but no method of internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, object to certain processing, and request data portability where applicable.
